Quick thoughts written in the margins of the day. What's a jottle?

the engagement baiting on chatgpt has gotten really bad in the past few days. first noticed it over the weekend.
i'll ask it a question, and it will give me an answer and a long rationale for that answer and then afterwards say something like, there's actually one secret thing that i'm not telling you about this, do you want to know? do i want to know the secret? yes. do i now doubt everything it just told me? also yes. i'm sure it juices the engagement numbers but i find it highly annoying

A new thing I'm trying out: having the LLM keep track of the experiments I ship
I realized I'm shipping a ton of updates but having a hard time remembering two weeks out to go back and check to see if they worked So I asked the LLM to make a small command to log each experiment for us to track and review later. It keeps track of: - hypothesis - feature - success criteria (and what system to check them in!) - timeline And I added a rule to prompt me to log an experiment as we are completing each item we work on. Today I went back through the last week and added review points for stuff we shipped, as well as a few new experiments that we are running starting today

If you haven't been able to tell, I've been spending a lot of time on email marketing for ColorBliss this month.
One big initiative is a new drip campaign. After folks go through the onboarding flow, I'll hit them with one email a week. Each one is short, following the rule of one. Topics range from "Check out this cool style" to "Here's a feature you might be interested in" to "I made a free coloring book for you" The goals here are: - keep ColorBliss top of mind for people - keep more people on the mailing list - keep the list warm - see what content resonates Starting with ~20 emails, which is about half a year of content! And as I make new broadcasts, I'll look at tacking some of those on to the existing list.

✅ launch new feature
✅ announce the new feature ✅ follow up with an upgrade email one week later to the people who clicked on the new feature announcement 93% open and 89% click rate is an all time high for me. but so far a 0% conversion to paid plan gonna take a look at some session recordings to see if I can nail down any friction and also going to look at doing more of these follow up emails. if i can regularly get an extra 450 people looking at the choose plan page that would be nice
